Shipping Route: Moving from Shanghai to Auckland;
Case Summary: Mr. Li from Shanghai chose Seapoe Relo to ship his furniture and belongings to Auckland by sea.

Auckland is one of the most developed regions in New Zealand. Thanks to its advanced economy, pleasant environment, high standard of living, and stunning scenery, it has been rated one of the world's most livable cities for many consecutive years. As a result, many New Zealand immigrants choose Auckland as their place to settle.

After deciding to settle in Auckland, Mr. Li began preparing to ship the furniture from his Shanghai home to his new home in Auckland by sea. After learning about Mr. Li's moving needs, Seapoe arranged for staff to visit Mr. Li's home in Shanghai for an on-site survey and assessment. During the survey, the staff explained to Mr. Li how to pack and handle the items to be shipped, outlined the moving procedures and timeline, introduced Chinese customs and New Zealand customs regulations on the import and export of personal effects, and explained the importance of moving insurance. At the same time, they were able to identify potential issues that Mr. Li had not noticed and offer recommendations, such as items suspected to be cultural relics, prohibited goods, or other items restricted from export. For example, New Zealand customs requires that all imported personal effects undergo physical inspection by customs and examination by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF). If prohibited items are found, all items may be required to undergo fumigation. Therefore, if our company discovers prohibited items during the on-site assessment, we will promptly remind the client to reduce additional costs.

Shipping items from China to Auckland, New Zealand takes considerable time and money. To avoid damage or loss of items, meticulous and thorough preparation is essential.

First, choose a reliable and professional international moving company. We recommend choosing a major-brand international moving company. Generally, larger international moving companies have more service experience, can help clients complete customs clearance more quickly, and have methods to better protect items from damage.

Second, the service content of sea freight moving to New Zealand involves many aspects of work. Although many international moving companies offer one-stop services that greatly reduce the pressure on clients, clients also need to actively cooperate with the international moving company during the service process, promptly providing relevant information and documents to ensure smooth customs clearance. For example, personal effects entering New Zealand do not require the consignee to be present in person, but the following documents must be provided: 1. Copies of documents: a copy of the consignee's passport photo page and a copy of the visa; 2. An English-language packing list; 3. The ocean bill of lading; 4. The New Zealand Unaccompanied Personal Baggage Declaration form.

Finally, since the entire service involves cross-border operations, you must maintain frequent contact with the service manager to ensure that the items reach their destination smoothly. In addition, all service contracts for international moving should be carefully read and reviewed. Service contracts not only protect the interests of both parties but also ensure the smooth delivery and quality of the service.
